Application Instructions for Different Fabric Types
Applying DTF transfer gang sheets is quick and easy using a heat press. Follow these steps to achieve long-lasting, professional-quality prints:
🔹 For Cotton & Cotton Blends:
1️⃣ Press at 315-325°F for 10-15 seconds under medium pressure.
2️⃣ Let cool slightly before peeling (warm or cold peel compatible).
3️⃣ Repress for 5 seconds with a cover sheet for enhanced durability.
🔹 For 100% Polyester & Performance Fabrics:
1️⃣ Press at 270-285°F for 8-12 seconds under light to medium pressure.
2️⃣ Let cool before peeling the transfer film.
3️⃣ Repress for 5 seconds to lock in the print.
🔹 For Blended & Specialty Fabrics:
1️⃣ Test a small area first to find the best heat setting.
2️⃣ Use medium pressure and a lower temperature (280-300°F) for heat-sensitive fabrics.
3️⃣ Repress for 5 seconds for added durability and softness.
Repressing Tips for the Best Finish
After peeling, repressing your DTF transfer helps improve durability and finish. Choose the right method based on the final look and feel you want:
- Butcher Paper – The most common option for repressing DTF, allowing optimal heat transfer while preventing sticking to the garment.
- Teflon Sheet – Use if you prefer a glossy finish on your transfer, but be mindful that moisture trapping can occur if not handled properly.
- Flipping the Garment – If your heat press has a textured lower platen cover, flip the garment print-side down before repressing. Because of this, ink gets driven into the fibers for a softer, more natural hand feel—a technique many commercial print shops use.
