PRINT CARDS

What Is a QR Code & How It Works | Print Remedy Guide

You’ve seen them before, that little square you scan with your phone that takes you to a link, url, e-mail or some programmed location!

They are super fun and cool, but before you generate them, be mindful of 2 main types of QR codes, Static and Dynamic codes.

Static Codes, as the word implies, don’t fluctuate.  If you generate a QR code to take you to a url, that code is permanently bound to  that URL.

Dynamic Codes, can be altered.  Once the code is generated to take you to a specific location, you can then edit that code later to have the URL / destination take you elsewhere.  This is BAD for example, if an artist makes a QR code point to an album download and then a few months later releases a single and uses the same code, that single will now overwrite the album as the codes destination once scanned.

Okay easy right?

You can generate these codes yourself with our FREE QR CODE GENERATOR (we only use Static QR codes!) or, in our Online Designer (on products like business cards and flyers), we actually have embedding QR codes already setup into the functionality for you!
