4/4 – Color Front, Color Back

CMYK color profile: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. Most physical goods are reproduced and manufactured using CMYK color, where as computer and web use files use RGB color profiles.  The printing term “4/0” refers to these four process colors on the front, and no color (blank) on the back.  But The Print Remedy doesn’t charge you extra for a second side and we solely offer what is often listed as “4/4” printing on Flyers / Brochures, unless of course you truly want a full back side that’s blank of course.

Paper
100lb Text Stock is thinner than Card Stock. If you’ve ever been handed a thinner flyer or a brochure, especially a folded brochure, a folded CD booklet insert, DVD or Blu-ray cover insert, Cassette tape insert or anything similar it was most likely a Text Stock.

Finish
-Gloss (Semi-Gloss) is not quite as heavily coated as a UV Gloss but still has a pristine glare and light hint of shine to it.
-Matte finish is soft to the touch, yields a bright hold on the colors and does not have a gloss or shine to it, therefore this option is ideal for products you intend to be able to write on with a marker, most pens or if you are in need of anti-glare properties under bright lights.
-UV High Gloss coating applies a liquid coating to the paper stock and is dried using Ultra Violet light, hence UV.  The finish has a smooth and glossy shine to it.

Paper Size Tips and Tricks
Paper printing cost are effected mainly by 2 things, the size of the print itself and quantity of course. A 6×4 Flyer or Postcard might seem like a standard and that’s mainly because it’s easy to find shipping envelopes to fit that size. However many promotional companies, clubs, venues and marketing professionals use Quarter Page Flyers which are 5.5×4.25 inches instead of 6×4 because they are slightly cheaper and easier to cut after being printed. A standard paper size is 8.5×11 so a Quarter Page Flyer can fit perfectly 4x on a sheet and be cut in half twice to yield 4 flyers.  Another tip of the trade, never search online for things like 6×4 Wedding invites or Baby Shower Invites because companies use those key words to increase their pricing.  In reality you should just be looking for a Flyer or Postcard and just design it to be used for your invites because it is the exact same print media and product after all.
